In Erbil, Iraq, Assyrian youth continue to navigate the challenges of displacement, uncertainty, and limited opportunities—all while striving to preserve their faith, language, and cultural identity. Through our Youth Sponsorship Program in Erbil, Assyrian Family Aid is committed to supporting young people by investing in programs that nurture spiritual growth, education, and community connection.

This initiative supports youth-centered programs hosted through local church and community partners in Erbil. The program provides a safe and welcoming space where young people can gather for faith-based activities, Assyrian language learning, choir participation, and cultural education. These gatherings play a vital role in strengthening identity and fostering belonging for youth growing up in the diaspora within their own homeland.

By sponsoring youth programs, Assyrian Family Aid helps cover essential program needs, including educational materials, activity resources, space usage, and coordination support. These efforts ensure that youth programming remains accessible and consistent, allowing participants to build friendships, confidence, and leadership skills rooted in shared values and faith.
