Sharing a Meal, Sharing Joy: A Day at Peterson Park Nursing Home

This season, Assyrian Family Aid had the privilege of spending time with the Assyrian residents at Peterson Park Nursing Home in Chicago, sponsoring a special lunch and musical performance to bring comfort, connection, and joy to our elders.

Our team gathered with residents to share a warm meal, meaningful conversations, and moments filled with music and smiles. For many, it was a reminder that they are remembered, valued, and deeply cherished by their community. The afternoon was filled with laughter, gratitude, and a sense of togetherness that reflects the heart of our mission.

Supporting our elders is an essential part of preserving our culture, honoring our roots, and caring for those who paved the way for future generations. Moments like these go beyond providing a meal—they strengthen bonds, uplift spirits, and remind us of the importance of showing up for one another.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make this visit possible and to the staff at Peterson Park Nursing Home for welcoming us so warmly. It is an honor to serve our community in ways that bring compassion, dignity, and love to every stage of life.

At Assyrian Family Aid, we remain committed to creating opportunities for connection and care—because giving back is not only about meeting needs, but about standing together as one family.
